Hubby Kris ordered a hot roast beef hero for lunch last week from Defonte's of Brooklyn's newly opened Manhattan outpost. He was mighty impressed - his giant hero came with a generous portion of roast beef, fried eggplant and fresh mozzarella (on Italian sesame bread).
After initially thinking $9.75 was pricey for a sandwich, he found himself full after eating only half! And since Kris is never one to waste food, he brought home the other half for me (YAY!)
I thought it tasted pretty good but a bit dry - it needed more of that "natural jus" touted in the sandwich description. But too be fair, I was eating Kris' leftovers and honestly, $9.75 to feed two people? Fits any recession budget!

This sandwich is huge, unfortunately I don't eat beef, haha
It's very interesting and funny!
Oh my goodness, that $9.75 sandwich was worth every penny, especially since it had eggplant in there too! It has vegetable in that huge meat 'wich, and is therefore healthy.
That is a monster 'wich but well worth the price if it fed two people (and I'm assuming Kris has a very healthy appetite).
