I was shocked to find out recently that Shamrock Shakes are only available in some areas of the U.S. And how lucky I am to live in one of those regional areas, allowing me to enjoy a delicious minty Shamrock Shake every March!
Huge shoutout to my friend Erin who asked about the Shamrock Shake and got blank stares from employees at 2 Mcdonald locations in Texas.
Shamrock Shake devotees are everywhere -there's even a website devoted to Shamrock Shake sightings.
Is this phenomenon just a U.S. thing, or do they have Shamrock Shakes in Ireland?
Well, I'm happy to report that they do exist in Ireland but only during March (Kris received confirmation from Dublin last week).
So RUN, don't walk, to your local Mcdonald's!

I've never had one - should check it out, I love all kinds of shakes.
I wonder if they still have these now that St. Patrick's Day is over? I hope I didn't miss them! If only McDonald's served pidan (century egg) and congee, I would be on that like nobody's business! I love your congee recipe, and will be trying it soon!

That's crazy that they don't have them everywhere. I remember as a kid always having those for St. Patrick's Day. Loved the unusual color.
